CIM Training Week 1, Day 4: 3 miles

The wind sucks! I just thought I'd say that. :) When I ran this afternoon, here's what the Pre said...



That's right, 12mph. We're not supposed to have 12mph winds the first week of August! The first mile was awful, I felt like I was running through mashed potatoes or something, and I had to hold the hat to my head.

Mile 1: 10:15.04
Mile 2: 9:35.59
Mile 3: 9:57.29

3 miles, 29:47, 9:57/mi. I walked the last .18 mi back to work, total 396 calories burned.

Tomorrow's my rest day as I drive up north to Lava Beds National Monument for some caving. While there, I have a 5 mile tempo run on Saturday, and an 8-mile long run on Sunday. 8 miles will be the longest I've run since the May 3 marathon. Both of these runs will be at ~4000' of elevation.

CIM Training Week 1, Day 3: 5 miles

Did my 5 miles today, walking the last .2 back to work. In fact, I did some walking in Mile 5, which is why it was so much slower.

Mile 1: 8.53:96
Mile 2: 8:52.49
Mile 3: 9:24.63
Mile 4: 9:20.79
Mile 5: 11:48.11

5 miles, 48:19, 9:40/mi, 713 calories burned

I need to slow down earlier on, although the heat did have something to do with it that last mile. I'm mainly just happy to be running!
