WOO!
I finally got to go jogging today and try out my new running shoes. What a difference! I don't usually feel discomfort, but I'm pretty aware of my feet and how they feel in the shoes. But with these things? It was like I barely knew my feet were there. My feet themselves felt like I was sitting still, or at very least just barely walking. The rest of my body was a different story of course, hehe.
But I gotta say, check them out if you want some comfortable running shoes. 25 minute jog, 276 calories burned.

"But you promised!"
My apologies for a lack of blog entries since prior to Christmas. What can I say, laziness dies hard. BUT... I still worked out. Time to get back on the blogging track, here's today's:
Warmup, 3 sets of 5 reps, w/45lb bar
* Overhead Squat
* Squat
* Good Morning
* Barbell Lunge
* Romanian Deadlift
* Bent-Over Row
Workout, supersets of 2
* Dumbbell Alternating Lunge, 45lb dumbbells, 3 sets of 6
* Dumbbell Squat, 45lb dumbbells, 3 sets of 6
* Incline Dumbbell Fly, 35lb dumbbells, 3 sets of 6
* Incline Dumbbell Press, 35lb dumbbells, 3 sets of 6
* Rear Lateral Raise, 30lb dumbbells, 3 sets of 6
* Bent-over Row, 90lbs on curl bar, 3 sets of 6
25 minutes, 147 calories burned
I got a new heart rate monitor, and it seems to not only be a lot more accurate, but has lots of good features as well. The best part is it was only $19.99 + $5 shipping, a clearance on woot.com. While it's only reading half the calories burned that the other one did, it takes a reading all during the workout. The Mio one I had would only take a reading occasionally when you'd put your finger on the sensors.
Tomorrow we'll see how well it performs while jogging. I do know the strap is much more comfortable than the Polar one.
