Hi!

I'm sitting here on the laptop, sitting on my couch, watching Battlestar Galactica. A little while ago, I had dinner. Yet, all I can think of is that tomorrow is my first long run in three weeks.

See, I hurt myself. I did it running, although I didn't do anything in particular wrong. It might have been the wrong kind of shoes, which has been since corrected. It might have been the way I was stepping, or it could have been dumb luck. Whatever the case, I hurt myself, and the pain really hasn't gone away. It's gotten lighter, but it's still there.

The doctor said that while there's irritation, there really isn't anything obviously wrong. It's not a break, looking at hte x-ray. So I'm doing what he's told me to, taking aspirin when needed, resting when I feel the need. If it gets too bad, I'll stop for a while.

My point is that there's a certain element of fear for the run tomorrow. I need to run. There's no question about it. Tomorrow is 14 miles, the following Saturday is 12, and the following Sunday is the Shamrock'n Half Marathon in West Sacramento. It all leads up to The Ave in May, which I'm not cancelling. As a matter of fact, I'm making arrangements for my sister to come out from Charlotte, NC in order to see me finish.

So in the morning I'll be out there. I'm not sure how it will go. I'm sure it'll be fine, but this nagging thought in my brain is that I'll be miserable for a week after. That said, I'm extremely happy to be out there. This week I've run 10 miles, and still feel alright. I even went to the gym today.

Warmup, w/45lb bar
* Overhead Squat
* Barbell Squat
* Good Morning
* Alternating Lunge
* Romanian Deadlift
* Bent-Over Row

Workout, supersets of 2
* Wide-stance Squat, 4x12x135lbs
* Dumbbell Bench Press, 4x12x35lbs
* Wide-grip Chin-up, 3x1
* Push Press, 2x12x85lbs, 1x8x85lbs

This week has been good as far as workouts are concerned. I followed the marathon plan, ran my two runs. I went to the gym three times, and after tomorrow, it will be my first successful week in about a month. Now if I can just keep it up, I'll be doing great!
