The other day, my daughter Jenny, who's 5 years old, asked me, "Daddy, you know what you can't do?" Her response made my day. Today, I had her do it again. Here's Jenny, telling me what I can't do.

Ave Training Week 2, Day 6: 9-Mile Long Run
Last week was the first training week (out of 18), but due to running 4 miles with Pastor Rob and the Rivers Get Out group, I didn't make a video. That was ok with me though, we had a great time. I made up for it this week.
Last Saturday was also supposed to be an 8-mile long run, but I only ran the 4. Today was a 9-miler, and honestly, I was dreading it. This is the furthest I've run since the marathon a litle over a month ago. As it turns out, there was no need for dread.
The best way I can explain it is that the run just worked. The weather was great (for running anyway), I felt great. In fact, it felt like some of the runs I had last year prior to hurting my ankle.
Splits
Mile 1: 9:47
Mile 2: 9:54
Mile 3: 9:58
Mile 4: 10:25
Mile 5: 12:14
Mile 6: 10:31
Mile 7: 11:22
Mile 8: 11:45
Mile 9: 10:42
9 miles, 1:36:46, 10:46/mi, 949 calories burned
I did great at the beginning, but once I started walking at 4.5 miles, I just kept walking off and on the rest of the way. It's obvious that I need to work on running without walking.
