Today was my last run before the California International Marathon. A slow, short run of 2 miles, something to keep the blood pumping but not strenous by any means. The biggest problem I had was trying to keep from running too fast. In fact, I think I did run too fast overall, but still felt great. I'm hoping it's a good sign for Sunday!

CIM Expo
I got off work at 4pm so I could head over to the expo. I went through all the hoops necessary. First I got my bib.
I got my shirt & goodie bag.
Finally, I met Bart Yasso and attended his lecture, which wasn't as much informational as it was a slideshow of some of his memorable races.
Afterwards, I had a nice pasta dinner at Lucca, a very runner-friendly place. In fact, a few years ago when I ran the Shriner's Run in Sacramento, Lucca had a running team there with some really nice singlets. The bartender told me he wasn't running the full marathon, but is part of the Lucca relay team.
Tomorrow's the 2nd day of the expo, where I'll meet and have lunch with quite a few Twitter users and at least two podcasters. I really love that! Not knowing many runners outside the internet, it's not often that I get to spend a good amount of time talking about it and learning from them. Truly, meeting runners is as much a part of the race as the race itself.
